Client Dog Selection

Below is a small selection of client's dogs. As you can see they cover a multitude of breeds, genders and ages. Their problems included aggression, persistent barking, door chewing and a whole lot more. Dogs are easy, it's only humans who make it complicated!!

Robin on the Radio

As I mentioned previously, this week, I featured on a phone-in on Tommy Boyd's show on BBC Southern Counties Radio. A different 'Beast of the Day' is featured each day which has to be a creature resident in the UK or surrounding waters. Creatures already featured have included things as diverse as woodlice and even 'roadkill'. On this particular day the featured animal was the 'rescue dog'. A number of people had called in saying "I've got a dog, his name is....." And not much of interest. So, as a number of my working Police dogs had been rescues I decided to call.

Having heard myself, particularly at the start of the piece. I've decided that I need to brush up my elocution which is probably not helped by the fact that I have a tooth missing at the moment. When I get it replaced I'll sound like Brian Sewell!!!

If you're in the Southern Counties (Surrey, Sussex and North East Hampshire) you'll be hard pressed to find a better local radio station, I commend it to you. 104.6 fm. I hope they don't mind me using the above clip. If they do I've no doubt that they'll tell me and I'll remove it.

Aldershot News Article

As mentioned in a previous post my local paper did an article on me which you can read below. The dog in the picture is Treacle. The article was written by Lauren Burbridge who I later found out was on work experience. She interviewed me over the phone and did a lot of work pulling the story together. I think it's been done very well. Read it and see what you think

I've been interviewed many times over the years by all sections of the media and very often when the story is printed or broadcast I find myself saying, "They've missed out a vital part of the story." or worse still, "I never said that." But not this time a good interview followed by a good piece of writing. I couldn't have done better myself..........No I really mean I couldn't have done better! Anyway a special thank you to Lauren I wish her well in her chosen career I'm sure she has a bright future in front of her.

Getting The Word Out There

It's been a hectic week. Our first Grandchild is due later this month so everytime the phone rings at the moment there is always that thought at the back of your mind "Is this it?" On Tuesday our local paper ran an article on me and the use of Amichen Bonding. They kindly included my contact details which made my phone very busy.

Also this week I was on the Tommy Boyd Show on BBC Southern Counties Radio involved in a discussion on 'Rescue Dogs' which was very interesting. At the end of the feature Tommy gave my website address out which caused my phone to ring off the wall.

And then my new car signs arrived. I was never really happy with the layout of my original signs so, when I did something very stupid which made them useless I took the opportunity to redesign them. The changes are not great but the overall appearance is much enhanced. They must be working because in the three days since the signs went on my vehicle I've had three enquiries from people who have just seen the car driving around. Already one of those enquiries has turned into a booking.

The clients that I have picked up this week run the whole spectrum of both dogs and problems. There are rescue dogs, pedigree and mixed breeds, puppies up to very old dogs. Their problems range from aggression to separation anxiety, running away when out on a walk and many others. They are all a challenge but that is what makes this work so rewarding.

If only every week could be like this one.
